Many of the designs I create are inspired or based in music. Lately, I have been creating an ongoing series of designs based on the great composers. The design series is nowhere near done (so many great composers!), and I’ll be posting new designs and keeping this post up to date as I do. Classical music is specially important for me. I have been playing the piano for more than 8 years now, and it is a constant source of joy in my life.
Without further ado, here are the great composer designs 🙂

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:
This design features a bit of typography inspiration and a vectorized portrait of the great Austrian composer. I wanted to create a design that was bold, and would look nice on a poster, t-shirt, or any objetct, not the classic, toned-down imagery that sometimes is used for Mozart art. The composer’s name is written in 6 lines of text, in blue and red. The portrait of Mozart sits on the background, in a dark gray tone. This combination creates a balanced, bold effect.
Ludwig van Beethoven:

Another one of the great composers, whose music still influences us, hundreds of years after he passed away. The design also features Beethoven’s portrait in the background, with bold lettering in multiple lines sitting on the foreground. But this design features typographical and stylistic choices that are very different from Mozart’s design. The design looks great both on white and black backgrounds, in a wide variety of products.
Johann Sebastian Bach:

Bach is too often portrayed in a serious, formal and anticuated fashion. Except of course when he is the subject of puns like “I’ll be Bach”, or “Bach to the future”. I wanted to create a design that would make this great composer look cool, great and inspire people to wear their love for him on their sleeve, with no puns or jokes, this time. The black portrait of Bach in the background creates a bold and powerful contrast against his name, written in red in front.

Chopin is perhaps my favorite of the great composers. This is a difficult question of course, but his deeply moving and incredibly beautiful works for piano are something which I cannot stop listening. I created a more toned down, and subdued, design, for this great Polish master. It features Chopin’s portrait and his name writtten in elegant blue letters underneath. A great choice for a t-shirt or a music room.
Additional Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Design:
I wanted to keep creating designs based on other great composers, but I had to share this one first. Another design based on the great Mozart. It is a humorous take on the pop culture phenomenon of taking sides whenever a movie, show, or event features 2 clashing characters (Captain America vrs IronMan). Well, Mozart really has no specific nemesis (Salieri, perhaps?) but I still wanted to create a design that boldly stated that I was in his team, so there. The design features the Austrian flag’s colors, and looks great on a black background, although you can modify the products in the Zazzle store to have any background color that you like (for most of them).
