Guatemala, the land of eternal spring, is home to many gorgeous locations. Over the past few years, I have taken a few photographs of Guatemala, my home country. Below, you’ll find some of the photographs which I particularly liked, and decided to upload to my Zazzle store. You can find the link to each product line beneath each piece.

Antigua Guatemala photographs:
Antigua Guatemala used to be Guatemala’s capital city, until a major earthquake forced the citizens to abandon the city. It is relatively close to Guatemala City, and a great tourist hotspot where you can capture many great photographs. The Spanish colonial architecture of La Antigua, and the ruined churches and other buildings, are spectacular.
Black and White ruins in Antigua Guatemala:
This photograph has a nostalgic, tragic quality to it. The black and white effect, and the ruined giant, create a melancholic scene.

A church in ruins in La Antigua, Guatemala:
This ruin is the same as the one in the black and white photograph above, but the style and feeling of the picture completely changes. The full frontal picture creates a more cheery, impressive photograph of the past splendor of this beautiful building.
La Antigua Guatemala, building in ruins:
Another building in ruins, this building is actually still in use by a cultural association. Some of the products using this photograph on my Zazzle store have had the skies digitally removed and replaced with an unsaturated blue, creating a slightly different feeling. I encourage you to go check out this design on my store.

Photograph of cathedral in black and white:
The Antigua Guatemala cathedral is one of the main landmarks of the colonial city. It is an impressive, gorgeous piece of architecture. I shot this photograph from right in front of the main entrance to the church. The black and white effect and the yellow, slightly transparent text gives it an elegant, balanced feel. A great gift for shutterbugs.
Building in central plaza:
Guatemalan textiles are very colorful, intricate, and simply gorgeous. They take a lot of time to make, and no two patterns are exactly alike. You can spend hours visiting the local markets and you will not get bored with the craftsmanship and detail in these works of art.
Group of Guatemalan Textiles in Atitlán:
I found this colorful group of Guatemalan textiles in Santa Catarina Palopó, and decided to create a colorful, vibrant design using only some text to showcase where they are from.
The pictures below were shot in Guatemala City, the capital of the country.
Surreal church with galaxy background:
This surreal photograph was created by superimposing and combining an image of a church in Guatemala City with a photograph of a Galaxy. The effect is beautiful, with the spiral galaxy serving mostly as a background, but also leaking through the church and decorating it as well. A very original piece to remind you of my country.

Lake Atitlán Photographs:
Lake Atitlán is famous for its beauty, and it is easy to see why thousands of people flock its shores every year to relax. It is located in the department of Sololá, and has many small villages surrounding it.
Santa Catarina Palopó shore in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala:
This photograph was snapped in the village of Santa Catarina Palopó. The picture shows 2 massive volcanoes on the background, with the lake on the middle of the field, and many boats on the foreground of the picture. A classic scene in this Guatemalan village.
