La Antigua Guatemala is a colonial city (Santiago de los caballeros de Guatemala, originally), famous for its colonial architecture. It is a great spot to snap a few photographs of its ruins, buildings, and landscapes. A few years back, I had one of such trips to the colonial city. Below, you’ll find a couple of photographs I took while visiting. All the photographs found in this post can be purchased at my Zazzle store (links below), in many types of posters, postcards, and other types of products.
Besides photographs from Antigua, you’ll also find one photograph taken in Atitlán Lake, in Guatemala as well. Sadly, I did not take as many photographs on that trip, but I expect to go back again and take many, many more.
I hope you like the photos, and pleas, share if you do!
Antigua Guatemala – Black and White church in ruins.
A nostalgic photograph, with the front of a church in ruins, and the black and white aesthetic.

La Antigua Guatemala ruins photograph:
A frontal photograph of a colonial building in Antigua. I love the contrast between the (relatively) undamaged and new parts, and the older, more decayed parts of the building.
La Antigua Guatemala Cathedral:
This photograph was snapped from the lower part of the cathedral’s entrance, in Antigua. The black and white background contrasts nicely with the “La Antigua, Guatemala” text in the front.

Ruins of a church in Antigua Guatemala:
One of my favorite photographs. The ruins just give you a sense of loss and nostalgia, while remaining colossal in their own way.

Boats in the shore of Lake Atitlán, Guatemala:
This photograph was snapped in the little town of Santa Catarina, Palopó. Atitlán Lake is located in the Sololá department in Guatemala, and is one of the most beautiful lakes you’ll lay your eyes upon.
