The Almudena Cathedral interior photograph captures this architectural jewel’s intricate beauty. I visited Madrid, Spain in August 2016. Immediately, the impressive architecture of the cathedral awed and impressed me in a powerful way. As you can see, the photograph has a very bright, energetic light, and the colorful elements in the glass windows pop out of the gray walls and pillars. The windows rising to the ceiling light up the massive stone pillars, brilliantly and elegantly carved. With so much gorgeous detail and beauty, you cannot help looking upwards when you are in this cathedral. In the darker bottom of the picture, you can see a crucified Jesus Christ. This gives the image another dimension of interpretation, specially for people of the Catholic faith.
If you like this photograph of the Almudena Cathedral interior, you might also love the black and white version. Even though both photographs share the same subject, the monochrome version focuses on the shapes and contrasts.
