The cypress branches photograph is the 6th in a series of abstract photographs featuring cypress foliage, alongside geometric design. I wanted to combine the natural beauty of the cypress foliage, its intricate, gorgeous detail, with a more geometric, artificial aesthetic. The artwork combines both of these attributes in a bold, yet balanced, way. You can see the cypress branches, in all their detail, as the monochrome background in the photograph. The blue and green geometric shapes serve as bold, eye-catching elements, which add contrast and tension to the final photograph. I tried to combine these 2 aesthetics throughout the abstract photography series.
This artwork is bolder and more colorful than the first works in the series. You can place this artwork on your home or office, and it will immediately attract positive attention. I like the fact that it is both easy to appreciate from a distance, when you focus on the large geometric shapes, and up close, where your eyes are drawn to the intricate details in the cypress branches.
